Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) announces WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus, the first ever WPPI trade show to take place on the East Coast. WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus will debut during PPE this fall in a new exhibit space at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus will host a full 
day of educational programs for professional photographers on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. A two-day tradeshow will follow on October 27–28, 2011 from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. each day.

All WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus classes and the trade show will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Registered WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus attendees will also have full access to attend the PhotoPlus Expo trade show.

The pre-registration rate to attend all WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus classes, the WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus trade show and PhotoPlus Expo trade show is $99. On-site registration will be $150. Registration details will be announced soon. In addition, all registered attendees of PhotoPlus Expo will have full access to WPPI NYC @ PhotoPlus.

And, for the first time, WPPI will be holding a 16 x 20 competition in conjunction with WPPI NYC!  Judging will be held in Los Angeles, and the top scoring prints will hang in the WPPI NYC Pavilion at the Javits Center.  The contest is now open and you can enter at:  Trophies will be awarded to first-place winners and they also receive a one-year WPPI membership and a free registration with guest to WPPI 2012.  Accolade points will be awarded to WPPI members for prints scoring 80 or above.  A Wedding and Portrait Grand Award winner will be chosen and will be recognized at the WPPI 2012 Convention and Trade Show.  Prints must be received no later than 9/23/2011.  Enter now!


WPPI's third annual Road Trip has been going great! We hope you've all been having a fantastic time.  And we're not done yet. There are still two stops left and WPPI University in September. Don't miss out on a full day of speakers covering wedding, portrait, Photoshop/Lightroom and business/marketing. The F.I.L.M. Project
The F.I.L.M. Project , Family Images for Lasting Memories, is a non-profit organization that provides cancer patients with a free family portrait session through their network professional photographers. F.I.L.M. launched January 1st 2011 and can easily be considered the fastest growing non-profit organization in the industry, growing from 40 photographers in February to nearly 300 in September.
